Movies watched in August

Here are the movies I have watched this August.

Office Space (1999)
Comedy about three guys who are sick of their jobs in Initech corporation and decide to embezzle company’s money. Also about frustrated employee who “could just set building on fire” (he succeeds though). Movie is also the source of “That would be great” meme.

Nothing but the Truth (2008)
Investigate journalist uncovers undercover CIA agent and does not budge under demands of special prosecutor to reveal the source of her information. So she gets jailed and still doesn’t budge. It’s based on real events but explores idea of protecting one’s principles over anything else. The end is quite disturbing. Highly recommend it!

Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016)
Couple wants to sell their house, finds the buyer and house gets in escrow for 30 days. The problem arises when sorority inhabits the house next door. Which turns out to be even more pain than fraternity from the first movie.

In the Heat of the Night (1967)
A prominent businessman is murdered and passing-by black detective is asked to solve his murder in racially hostile southern town. A good mystery but difficult to watch racial abuses towards this man. I really doubt something like this would be allowed to film nowadays (50 years after the movie was released).

Conjuring 2 (2016)
Latest movie from famous horror movie’s director James Wan. It again features couple Ed and Lorraine Warrens who were also in first Conjuring 3 years ago. Couple is helping a London family to deal with supernatural entity who wants them out of its house.

Hard Candy (2005)
A teenage girl raids a man’s home in order to expose him under suspicion that he is a sex offender with pedophilia. Pretty insane story. Good performance by Ellen Page.
