Supergirl/The Flash musical crossover was great

The last episode of The Flash TV series was really entertaining. Besides the fact it was a crossover with related TV series, Supergirl, this episode was made as a musical. And boy, do the main two actors know how to sing! Melissa Benoist definitely convinced me with her version of Moon River.

Till this episode, there were already two crossovers between these two series. First was also very good. Second one not so much and was actually a mega crossover between all series on CW network that are based on comic books. I think in it, Supergirl had a very side role (most of the time she was under the Alien’s spell – the theme of the mega-crossover was lame). Crossovers between The Flash and Supergirl on the other hands are good. I think it’s thanks to a great chemistry between actors that play the title heroes.

Back to the episode in the title; Prisoner, later Barry nicknames him Music Meister, bewitches both Flash and Supergirl and they appear in musical – genre they both love. Music Meiser tells them to play it by script if they want to get out of it. The plot thickens when they meet people who are friends with them in real life, but they don’t know the two of them.

I like the main theme of the musical. Both superheroes were struggling with love in their real life. In musical, they set out to convince the couple to confess their “forbidden love” to their parents. Because parents are furious at first, they jump in with their rationale and at the end, they end up giving themselves an advice. I didn’t get that in my first watching and I think writers of the shows nailed it there.

But please, can we have less soap opera and drama in both series and more action from now on? 🙂
