My eating habits these days

These day you could say my eating habits are pretty healthy. Main things about them is that I avoid store-brought food, especially refined sugar. Also I don’t eat much diary products, only cheese and dry-curd cottage cheese (the kind you brought at farms which doesn’t have milk or other additives mixed in), my wish is also homemade yogurt. What these have in common is that they are very low in lactose, sugar my body has trouble digesting. Speaking of lactose, human body evolutionary is not meant for consuming milk, exceptions are babies. That’s why a lot of people are lactose intolerant. The main reason humans begin drinking milk is because it’s sweet. Although I know it’s rich with vitamins, you can get those from other food sources.

I eat a lot vegetables, at home we have a garden. Almost every day I also don’t skip on fruits to get my daily dose of sugar.

Something I’m really proud about is for few months now I’m making my own bread. Not just normal one, because instead of store-brought yeast I make my own sour dough. The thing about it is that it’s made over course of few days and it’s actually just a mixture of flour and water. Over time bacteria and wild yeast inhabit the mixture, making it all bubbly which cause mixture to grow, sometimes twice the volume as we started. Bread made with sour dough is sour ((Yeah I know, “sour dough” name gave it away, but in my native language it’s not that obvious.)).

I would also like to note, that my current eating habits made my a positive impact on my well-being. Which is no-brainer, why else would I persist with this? Adding a regular exercise, this well-being is near phenomenal, because I have a lot more energy and I sleep better at nights. Positive effects were also noted on my cleaner skin which I think goes to my avoidance of store-brought food and sugar – almost every store-brought food has some kind of sugar mixed in.

And yes, I don’t miss desserts, sweets and cookies.
