4 best things that happened to me in 2015

1. Graduating and obtaining BS in Computer Science.

This one is the most important for me. It took me 7 years to get it (2008 – 2015), which is an average. What can I say, I’m an average guy when it comes to this things. For example I also scored an average when graduating from secondary school. And if I would be applying again for faculty, I’d choose the same despite some subjects being really challenged to me. Faculty really broaden “my horizon” in CS world and gave me a solid fundamentals for choosing and learning new technologies (critical thinking).

2. Finding a good job related to my profession.

After graduating it didn’t take me long to find a job. I could say I was unemployed for only a month. I got a lot of experiences there and saw for the first time from inside how the firm is run. I’m really grateful to those guys who decided to employ some guy fresh from faculty and zero work-related experiences. They acknowledged my good technical skills which was awesome feeling.

3. Buying Kindle Paperwhite.

In the middle of summer I decided to by me an e-reader. I did that because of my desire to read more English book and because of Internet and because I don’t have to wait for a new best-seller to get translated to Slovenian language. Since buying I’ve read more than a dozen of books – authors Harlan Coben and John Grisham top my reading collection. With this I surprised even myself because when buying Kindle Paperwhite I set a goal that I would read 1 book per 2 months. Guess I was pessimistic because I spend sitting in front of computer a long. Reading has become my great source of relaxing from computer.

4. Starting to learn Go programming language.

This is related to my profession since I love programming and fancy myself a web developer. Go or Golang, since it’s easier to google for help related to it, is programming language developed by Google from 2007 and it’s on the rise. I started to learn it because my job demanded it and I quickly begin to love it. And it’s so fast!

Let’s hope 2016 will also have some great memorable moments!
